Los Angeles Angels catcher Kurt Suzuki left the game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday night when he was hit in the neck/collarbone area by a pitch from starter Michael Lorenzen prior to the start of the third inning.
Suzuki, in his 16th season in the majors and second with the Angels, appeared to collapse as he was being helped into the dugout.
A career .257 hitter entering the game, Suzuki was 0-for-1 Saturday, leaving him batting just .188 this season. Max Stassi came in to catch for the Angels.
