Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken will interview for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' open offensive coordinator position on Tuesday, NFL Network reported Monday night.
Monken, 56, previously spent three seasons on Tampa Bay's coaching staff, serving as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2016 and 2017 before solely serving as offensive coordinator in 2018. He now has the opportunity to return to his former position in place of Byron Leftwich, who was fired on Jan. 19.
NFL Network reported Monday that the Buccaneers had significant interest in hiring former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for the role, but the Los Angeles Chargers made him their new offensive coordinator shortly after.
Following his first stint with Tampa Bay, Monken spent one season as the Cleveland Browns' offensive coordinator before joining Georgia's staff in 2020. He also served as the Bulldogs' quarterbacks coach and helped Georgia to two national championships (2021, 2022).
Monken also has head coaching experience, spending three seasons (2013-15) at Southern Miss, where he went 13-25.
After serving as a graduate assistant at Grand Valley State and Notre Dame, Monken has also made stops at Eastern Michigan, Louisiana Tech, Oklahoma State and LSU in addition to a four-season stay with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their wide receivers coach.
