San Francisco, California: Salesforce, the cloud-based software company, is set to hire 3,300 employees in various departments, Bloomberg News reported.
This move comes after the company downsized its workforce by 10 percent in January. CEO Marc Benioff shared in an interview with Bloomberg that the aim is to grow the company and maintain strong profit margins.
"We know we have to hire thousands of people," Benioff stated.
The new hires will be spread across sales, engineering, and teams working on Salesforce's data cloud product, according to Chief Operating Officer Brian Millham.
As of now, Salesforce still needs to provide an official comment in response to the report.
Earlier in the year, Salesforce announced plans to reduce its workforce by 10 percent and close certain offices due to an overstaffed situation resulting from rapid pandemic-era hiring during an economic slowdown.
To navigate the tech spending downturn, the enterprise software company has introduced a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features and increased prices for the first time in seven years. In recent news, Salesforce launched Einstein Copilot, a generative AI tool available across its applications, including Slack and Tableau, which clients can customize to meet their specific needs.
