As a remarkable fruit of the joint effort of Tsinghua University and ANTA in exploring the development of sports fashion, the Global Sportswear Design Award (GSDA) has always attracted attention from academia, media, enterprises, and fashion designers. Since the first session started in June 2021, it has become a widely-influential avant-garde event in the sports fashion design circle. Sportswear serves as more than just a means for physical exercise. It embodies the fusion of fashion and technological innovation. The first session of the event successfully collected 1,512 entries from 24 countries spanning six continents and garnered the unwavering support from 29 institutions and organizations at home and abroad. It also witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 268 universities, colleges and institutions worldwide, signifying the establishment of an event platform that leads the global innovation trend.
In July 2023, the 2nd GSDA was kicked off. With the theme 'MOVEvolution - Envision the Future', the event is committed to becoming a globally influential sports fashion design award and one of the highest achievements representing the zenith of sportswear design. Focusing on 'Digital Intelligent Future, Environmental Protection, and Trendy Fashion', the event highlights the ever-changing and evolving process of sports fashion and encourages global designers to explore and shape the future of sportswear in a more efficient and greener way.
Since the inception of the event, the organizing committee has been diligently promoting its publicity and calling for entries. Teach-ins have been held in many universities and colleges in China and Europe, receiving positive responses from their students and faculties.

The GSDA this year focuses on 3 dimensions of innovation:
(1) Digital Intelligent Future:
In this dimension, digital and intelligent technologies are applied to improve or enhance the design and functionality of sportswear. It involves incorporating cutting-edge techniques like parametric design, AI intelligent generation, big data, and simulation into ground-breaking applications of sportswear.
(2) Environmental Protection: The main focus lies in the eco-friendliness and sustainability of sportswear, and the ability to implement ESG and carbon neutrality practices while prioritizing the use of renewable or biodegradable materials in our designs.
(3) Trendy Fashion: The emphasis on the seamless fusion of contemporary fashion elements with sportswear, and the ability to craft trendy sportswear that incorporates and showcases the latest fashion trends.

The GSDA features comprehensive, international, high-level, and authoritative competition rules, along with a professional jury. Renowned industry experts are invited to share their design experiences, and help companies commercialize their outcomes. It is a blueprint drawn to realize the dreams of designers in innovative design, sports and health, career aspirations, and future life. Committed to becoming an award for excellent and innovative designs in the global sportswear sector, the event identifies and recognizes outstanding designers who have made tremendous contributions to global sportswear design!
